Fun & immersive learning
i-Immersion is a nationally accredited education company specializing in language immersion. As one of the oldest immersion program providers and the first U.S. B-Corporation in its industry, i-Immersion’s mission is to connect the world through language and culture, one community at a time. We bridge the gap of language learning by offering creative solutions to set up micro-schools. With over 60 trained educators and over 30 micro-schools across the San Francisco Bay Area, i-Immersion has boasted some of the country’s fastest-growing immersion programs at the community levels.

Meet the Founder
Alice Kuo
MBA/M.Ed
"i-Immersion started as a one-man tutoring company with the mission of making language programs more accessible in the San Francisco Bay Area, and evolved with me into what it is today- a one-stop shop for educators to start their own micro-schools to serve the children and families in their community."
With over fifteen years of experience in both the teaching and management sides of academia, Alice Kuo is driven by a passion for supporting families and increasing access to early childcare and education. Her entrepreneurial approach to helping families thrive sets her apart in her field: She believes in enhancing communities through emerging technology, genuine collaboration, and compassionate leadership, and she’s spent her career collaborating with community and school districts to design education programs for underserved youths and struggling families. She’s the kind of leader who thrives when called to the rescue: dependable in a crisis, visionary, adaptable, and always prepared for a challenge.
Alice earned a B.A. in Legal Studies from University of California, Berkeley before earning a joint M.B.A./M.A. degree in Education Leadership from Mills College in Oakland. As an undergrad, she learned the ropes teaching foreign language classes sponsored by the Asian Studies department, then worked as Program Coordinator at UC Berkeley, where she supervised grant proposals, managed language instructors, and designed an open-university curriculum for a 3-level language course series. Ready to branch out on her own in 2008, Alice co-founded i-Immersion.
What began as a small education startup serving families with children under ten years old in need of language immersion classes soon grew to a thriving business with over 60 trained educators running language courses at over 30 school sites across the Bay Area. As Director and face of i-Immersion, Alice facilitated the company’s growth from its initial focus on language instruction into a multifaceted consultant hub for early learning programs.

Now Alice focuses on the consulting side of the business, empowering others to follow her path by providing business tools and strategies to build their own micro-schools and in-school enrichment programs.
