Summer and Outdoor Activities

An activity outdoor is important for 5 main areas of child development. When children do outdoors, we can start asking some questions to let them brainstorm or share experiences such as; "Where did you go with mommy and daddy?" (你和爸爸媽媽去哪裏?) and "What was the weather like?" (天氣怎麼樣?)

We can ask them to describe how they feel about activities, and what activities make them happy (開心) or make them upset (難過). With messy play, the sensory experience helps children to understand their senses. By exploring how things feel, smell, and taste, this type of play nurtures awareness and understanding of the world that surrounds them.

We also can encourage them to try different sensory activities by touching and feeling the grass (草) and sand (沙)! Little friends enjoyed getting their hands and feet messy! Why do they need a messy? because with messy play outdoor activities, the sensory experience could help children to understand their senses. By exploring how things feel, smell, and taste, this type of play nurtures awareness and understanding of the world that surrounds them.
